Dirty paws. Funky smell. Naughty behaviour all the time! Following a hygienic routine for your pets can be challenging. But it’s not impossible.
On top of the routine, these sure-fire solutions will help you follow a hygienic routine for your fur babies. Even better, all of these tips stand to make your pet’s life healthier and happier.

Keep your pets clean
Regular grooming will keep your pets tidier while preventing serious health issues that are associated with poor pet hygiene. This includes brushing your pet’s teeth, combing and trimming their hair, keeping their paws clean, etc. While dogs are simpler to clean than cats, there are various techniques to keep your pets as clean as possible.
After having a good walk or play with your pet, it's time to set up a simple grooming routine. As it is not recommended to use pet shampoo often, a quick wash with plain water can make a world of difference. Remember, do not let your pets roam around your home when they are damp. Keep them confined to one area until they are completely dry.
Buy a sensible pet bed
If you intend to practice good hygiene in pets, remember to consider their bedding. Your pet’s bedding requires proper washing now and then. In a few days, your pet's bedding can get clogged with mud and filth, which can be exceedingly hazardous to their health. This, in turn, creates an ideal breeding environment for fleas and ticks to wreak havoc. So, be sure to wash your pet's bedding regularly.
Remember, while choosing a bed for your pet, don’t get lured with the fancy and extra fluffy beds. Instead go for a water-resistant, easy to wipe down option.
Clean food and water bowls
As the saying goes cleanliness is close to godliness. Hence, we must endeavor to practice this even with our pets. Thus, when it comes to pet food and water bowls, it is imperative to always wash the bowls after every meal. Remember to use a separate sponge or scourer for your pet’s things. Make sure you’re using the water as hot as you can stand and rinse off the soap or liquid thoroughly.
Fresh drinking water should be available for your pets all the time. Replace the bowl of water every 6-8 hours. Do not keep the water for too long because it tends to get contaminated. So, make it a point to replace the bowl of water frequently. Have two sets of the bowl so that you have one bowl that’s clean while you are washing the other one.
Get a quality pet odour remover
Even after taking all the hygiene measures and regular grooming, you are still left with the odour from your pet’s space. It can be their kennel or the random spot in your home they roam. Persistent odour can affect their energy. Clean your pet’s area regularly. Odour removers play an important role in the practice of good hygiene in your pets.
When speaking about pet odour removers, we can realize that there are tons of pet odour removal products in the market. Remember when you buy one, choose products that are natural and have no harmful chemicals in them.
A regular check-up with vets
Every pet has a unique set of veterinary needs. Do not take your cat to the same vet as you take your dog for a check-up. Visit the veterinarian on an annual basis. He will assist you in keeping your pet in good health. It will help you to keep your pet in top condition. The vet will get a chance to examine any potential infections in the early stage.
Looking after your pets can sometimes seem as troublesome. It doesn’t need to be hard, continuous work. Create a routine that works for you by following the simple tips we've provided, and you'll have more time to enjoy your pet's company.
